Silver and enamel perfume bottle. Birmingham 1923.

A silver and enamel perfume bottle. Birmingham 1923.

This delightful silver perfume bottle was assayed in Birmingham in 1923. It is lavishly decorated in fine gulloche enamel, unusually on both sides of the bottle. (As these bottles were designed to lie flat on a dressing table, one side is usually undecorated.) The fine, vibrant blu enamel is applied over exquisite engine turned decoration. The bottle has a screw top lid and is assayed to the neck.

This charming bottle is 6.5 cm long, 3.5 cm at its widest point and 1.5 cm deep. (Measurements approximate). It is in excellent condition, showing only light wear appropriate to its age and substance. It has no damage and no restoration.
